Apple crisp just smells like September to me. 🍎🍂 Maybe it’s because we always have tons of apples this time of year, and this is one of those recipes I make every fall. It’s easy, delicious, and makes the entire house smell SO good.

Here’s what you need:

• 4 cups apples, peeled & chopped
• ¾ tsp cinnamon
• 1 tbsp lemon juice

Topping
• ¾ cup packed brown sugar
• ½ cup flour
• ½ cup oats
• ¾ tsp cinnamon
• ¾ tsp nutmeg
• ⅓ cup butter, softened

How to make it:
• Toss the apples with cinnamon and lemon juice, then add them to a greased baking dish.
• Mix together the brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
• Add the softened butter and use a pastry cutter, or just your hands, to mix until you have coarse crumbs.
• Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
• Bake at 375°F for about 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.

That’s it! Super simple and absolutely delicious… especially warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 😋

Wai’anapanapa State Park is hands down one of the most iconic stops on the Road to Hana. Once you see it, you’ll understand why.

This was a total bucket list moment for me. That black sand beach against the bright turquoise water? Even more stunning in real life.

Just a heads up, this is one stop you have to plan ahead for. Reservations are required and they don’t offer same-day entry, so be sure to book in advance!

It’s one of those places that feels a little wild, a little magical, and completely unforgettable.

I don’t usually plant until early April, but the weather has been so nice that I figured I should at least get the garden cleaned out and ready.

I’m thinking about keeping it simple this year and filling most of it with tomatoes and peppers since that’s what we actually eat the most. I love growing cucumbers too, but the last two years they’ve been so bitter I’m starting to take it personally. 😆
