Unpopular opinion: I hate exercise. Weight training included. But I hate being weak even more. At 61, I don’t work out because I love it. I do it because it’s an investment in my future. After 50, muscle loss accelerates, increasing our risk of osteoporosis, poor balance, loss of mobility, falls, fractures, and eventually loss of independence. I want to stay strong enough to travel, carry my own groceries, climb stairs, get up from the floor, get up from the toilet without assistance, and keep living life on my own terms for as long as possible. I’m not trying to become a fitness model. I simply want to become the strongest version of my future self. Every workout is a deposit into my independence account, even though it’s hard as hell to motivate myself to start it every time… What’s one thing you’re doing today to make sure 80-year-old you stays independent? How do you keep your motivation? Tell me in the comments⬇️ Save this for the days you don’t feel like exercising, and share it with a friend who needs this. Lets get stronger together!
