Thanksgiving Day Outfits - Wearing vs. Styling.

Style tips to look elevated in casual comfy clothes:
1. Layer the white tee under your sweatshirt for fashionable look. If you are too hot, wear a mock tee shirt collar.
2. Pin your sweatshirt so the bottom of contrasting white tee short is visible.
3. Add some suede pieces - suede boots, purse and suede jacket in tan colors always look en trend and classy, and you probably have some on your closet already.
4. Add some animal prints and plaids to make your outfit look current.
5. Tuck your sweatshirt hem, so it highlights your waist rather than widest part of hips for slimmer look and better proportions. Of you want to hide larger tummy, pin up one side of it rather than tucking.
6. Wear high waisted jeans that hug your hips comfortably and loosely even if the waist is too big - you can always wear a belt and you will avoid unflattering folds around stomach and groin areas.
7. Denim jacket is all time classic just make sure it not too tight, and roll up your sleeves to show thinnest parts of the wrists.
8. Makeup and jewelry make every look put together! 💄

We’ve all worn this outfit — thinking it was flattering… until we saw the photos. This outfit formula is familiar, classic and safe. But this outfit is outdated and makes us look heavier. The tight fit outlines the stomach and back rolls and the turtleneck makes face rounder, neck shorter and overall appearance more rounded.

When people look at us they focus on the face, and when the face looks round they automatically see us as plump even if the body is slim. If you open the neck with a V-neck cut, the face instantly looks slimmer and so does the body.

A few small tweaks like wearing more relaxed fit, opening neckline with v-neck cut and choosing firm fabric that outlines the body but doesn’t cling to it — make us look slimmer, modern and effortless.

Thanksgiving Day outfit Wearing vs. Styling. Which option you prefer?

Tight tee over slim jeans uniform after 50 feels safe because we are used to it, but it looks dated, frumpy and unflattering, and makes us invisible.
It’s time to upgrade your look with the simple tweaks.
1. Tight clothes does not make us look thinner. It makes us look frumpy. Make sure there is air between your skin and your clothes even if it means sizing up. You will look slimmer and more elegant.
2. Stop wearing thin clingy tee-shirts over jeans - it highlights body rolls and the widest part of hips, making legs look shorter. Instead, layer a button-down shirt or cardigan over your tee, and create right proportions by tucking your it in at least in the front.
3. Layer with blazer - highlight your waist with the belt. Open blazer creates vertical lines elongating the figure, while the belt emphasizes the waist and elongates legs.
4. Blazer is perfect for adding structure and polish to your look. Push the sleeves higher to expose your wrist - instant slimming effect and look relaxed and stylish.
5. When choosing your outfit keep color combinations in mind. Select colors that highlight and complement each other and your palette. If you don’t know your true colors check out my “DIY Color Analysis Guide with your Phone” in my bio.

Here’s how to look elegant after 50 (using what’s already in your closet).
One simple switch — from skinny jeans to wide-leg neutral trousers — can instantly make you look more elegant (and taller!).
I styled them three different ways using pieces most of us already have in our closets:

Look 1: Chocolate brown wide-leg pants + brown polka-dot top — my Pretty Woman moment. This monochrome brown on brown look will make you look taller and slimmer.
Look 2: Same trousers, but with a blue button—down shirt. Brown and blue looks quietly polished. adding a yellow purse for pop of color.
Look 3: Swap for a pink top or powder pink if you own any. This color combo with brown is very popular right now.
Look 4: Classic combo of brown and olive or khaki green - ever so popular, especially in the Fall.

You probably already have neutral basics like these in your closet — beige, brown, black, navy, or white. You don’t need to shop; you just need to style smarter. Shop your own closet this Fall!

Summer is over but don’t pack away your Summer basics yet. Summer clothes can easily be transitioned for Fall.
Start with neutral base - your favorite pants or skirt and tee shirt. Depending on how cold it is you can add a denim or suede jacket, a sweater, a trench coat or a blazer. Swap sandals for loafers or sneakers and replace your summer bag with a solid leather one.
Use your imagination to add accessories that complement the look.

Styling really bad purchase. Ordered chic linen dress from Pinterest, got a bad quality cotton nightgown. And it’s impossible to return. So let’s style it with what I have in my closet.
Look 1 - add a scarf around waist + accessories.
Look 2 - add a lacy scarf/overskirt around the waist + accessories. Lacy scarves around the waist and any lace details are hot trend for Summer and coming Fall.
Look 3 - same as 2 + black cashmere sweater over shoulders - great day to night option.
Look 4 - replace sweater with a white long vest + large fuzzy brooch.
Look 5 - same as 3 but wearing the sweater with the dress and lace scarf. Pin the sweater on a side with a brooch.
Look 6 - add a skirt over dress + accessories. The skirt should be shorter than a dress or with asymmetrical hemline. This will create layered effect making the outfit much more interesting.
Look 7 - wear a shirtdress or cover up over the dress. Layers make the look modern and interesting.
Look 8 - wear a denim dress like a duster over the dress. My denim dress is too tight to wear as a dress but it makes a great duster or over-layer in the fall and makes my original white dress look more expensive and interesting.
Look 9 - add a linen blazer and a sweater over shoulders for modern stylish look. This zebra print sweater was my only new purchase this Fall. The rest of pieces came from my closet.

Nothing can be more easy and breezy in Summer than a dress! The problem is choosing a dress that compliments your body shape.

I tried several dresses and you can see how the shirt dress with a line skirt and the grey a-Line dress look best on me. It’s easy to wear in Summer because they hide everything and I don’t need a slimming smoothing underwear or a special bra. The length is midaxi- hitting the slimmest part of my ankle and making me look slimmer. That’s why I like them!
