Today is National Iced Tea Day and I’m celebrating the best way I know how - with a refreshing batch of iced tea and the cutest summer pitchers and drinkware to serve it in! The colorful patterns and seasonal designs are perfect for bringing a little extra  charm to your to your summer beverages 😎 And if you're looking for a fun recipe to make for the occasion, my Watermelon Sun Tea recipe on the website is one of my favorite summer drinks! 🍉☀️Check out everything you need to celebrate National Iced Tea Day, from these fun drinkware options to my Watermelon Sun Tea recipe!

Watermelon Sun Tea Recipe

Yield: 1 gallon

EQUIPMENT
    •    1 gallon drink dispenser
    •    A sharp knife
    •    A cutting board

INGREDIENTS
    •    4 cups fresh watermelon with the rind removed
    •    12 tea bags, I used black tea and removed the tag before steeping.
    •    12 cups filtered water
    •    Fresh mint for garnish
    •    Simple syrup (optional)

DIRECTIONS
    1    Start by cutting watermelon into large chunks and making sure the rind is completely removed.
    2    Add the tea bags (with tags removed) to a 1-gallon drink dispenser to steep.
    3    Next, add 12 cups of filtered water and the 4 cups of cubed watermelon to the drink dispenser.
    4    Seal the drink dispenser and take it outdoors to a sunny location.
    5    Let the tea steep out in the sun for 2 hours.
    6    After steeping, use a pair of tongs to take the tea bags out of the dispenser. Serve over ice with fresh mint. If you like sweet tea add simple syrup to your liking.
    7    Refrigerate any left over tea. (Be sure to enjoy it in the next few days for best freshness.)

Steve Doss’s Protein Blueberry Muffins

Yields 12 muffins

Ingredients
-1-1.5 cups of fresh blueberries
-2 cups protein baking mix
-3/4 cups Greek yogurt
-3/4 cup milk of choice
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1/4 cup melted butter
-1 egg
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
-Spray muffin pan with cooking spray
-Pour muffin mix in evenly
-Bake for 18-20 minutes

Egg Bites

Yields 6 Egg Bites

Ingredients
-8 large eggs
-1 cup full-fat cottage cheese
-cooking spray
-1/2 tsp kosher salt
-Add in your favorite ingredients like shredded cheddar cheese, chopped veggies, bacon, sausage, etc.

Instructions
-Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
-Spray muffin pan with cooking spray.
-Combine eggs, cottage cheese, and salt in a blender for about 40 seconds, until smooth.
-Pour egg mixture in evenly.
-Bake for 22-25 minutes until lightly golden browned. Let rest for 5 minutes before removing from tray.

This Mexican Street Corn deserves a spot at every summer cookout 🌽 It’s one of my go-to easy summer recipes because it only takes a few minutes to make, it’s great to make ahead for parties, and it pairs perfectly with all of your grilling favorites. And of course, I had to serve it in my Corn Collection pieces because they’re just too perfect for summer BBQs! 😎 Scroll below to try this recipe out for yourself!

Total Time: 20 mins
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Yield: 6-8 servings

INGREDIENTS
    •    6 – 8 medium ears sweet corn, husks & silk removed
    •    ½ cup sour cream
    •    ½ cup mayonnaise
    •    ½ cup minced fresh or 1 tablespoon dried cilantro
    •    1 clove minced garlic
    •    1/4 – 1/2 tsp ground chipotle pepper
    •    2 tsp lime zest
    •    2 Tbsp lime juice
    •    ½ cup cotija cheese (can sub in grated parmesan or feta cheese)

DIRECTIONS
    1    Heat grill to 400°F.
    2    Whisk together the sour cream, mayo , cilantro, garlic, chipotle pepper, lime zest & juice.
    3    Grill the corn, turning ears until golden brown on all sides.
    4    With a brush or spoon coat each ear with sauce. Sprinkle with grated parm.
    5    Serve with extra lime wedges if desired.

Tara’s Tidbits®: The corn can also be grilled indoors in a heated grille pan or under the broiler.

Some recipes just taste like summer and this Citrus Shrimp & Avocado Salad is one of them ☀️🥑🍤 This is one of my mom Gail’s go-to recipes and I had so much fun making it with my bestie and this week’s Tara Time special guest, Markcharles Misilli! This salad is fresh and light but packed with flavor and it can be served as an entree or as a side dish. It’s one of those recipes that looks so pretty for summer entertaining but it’s so easy to make with just a few ingredients! Try out the recipe below!

Prep Time:  20 mins
Cook/Cool Time: 15-20 mins
Yield: 4-6 servings
INGREDIENTS
    •    4 – 6 cups salad greens
    •    2 avocados peeled & sliced
    •    1 – 2 lbs medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
    •    3 garlic cloves, minced
    •    1 small shallot, diced
    •    1 Tbsp parsley, chopped
    •    1 medium orange, cut into slices
    •    1 lemon, sliced
    •    2 Tbsp olive oil
    •    ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (or more, as desired)
    •    1 cup orange juice
    •    ½ cup lemon juice
    •    Kosher salt and ground black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS
    1    In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, orange juice, lemon juice, garlic, shallot, ½ parsley, and red pepper flakes.
    2    Pour the mixture into a large skillet over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes (should reduce almost by half).
    3    Add the shrimp, season with salt & pepper, cover and cook until they turn pink.
    4    Spoon shrimp with the sauce over the greens. Arrange the orange and lemon slices around the salad.

If there’s one appetizer I’ll never stop making, it’s my Garlicky Guacamole! 🥑 It’s my favorite easy recipe to make for get togethers with friends or casual nights at home and you can customize it exactly how you like it. And let’s be honest…a recipe this good deserves to be served in cute and functional temp-tations pieces that make the whole presentation look so put together! 💚

Make sure to watch till the end for some easy hacks to try when you make this dish!

Total Time: 10 mins
Prep Time: 10 mins
Yield: 6 servings

INGREDIENTS
    •    3 ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and skin removed
    •    2 Tbsp salsa
    •    4 cloves garlic, minced
    •    ¼ tsp salt
    •    ⅛ tsp black pepper
    •    1 Tbsp fresh lime juice (from about ½ a lime)

DIRECTIONS
    1    In a medium bowl, mash avocados with a fork until chunky. Add salsa, garlic, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Mix well.
    2    Serve immediately in a temp-tations® bowl or cover and chill at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve.
Tara’s Tidbits®:  I bring this dip to almost every single event or party I’m asked to come to. People love my guacamole and even if they don’t, they tell me that they do, so I just keep bringing it. I recommend serving this with the scoop-style tortilla chips, since they look pretty and make it easy to dig in. This also goes great on Mexican entrees, like tacos, quesadillas, and nachos!
