58. The house in the Pines by Ana Reyes :: 3.5/5⭐️ Maya witnessed her friends mysterious death many years ago so when a YouTube video pops up of another girl dying eerily similarly to how her friend died, she sets out back to her hometown to track down the person who she thinks is behind it all- Frank, a guy she was hanging out with that fateful summer. She’s now 7 years older, fresh out of the Klonopin she’s been using, and she needs a stiff drink, or 4.. switching between the past and present, we learn how Maya got to this point and the truth of what happened to both girls. This book definitely had an interesting concept and plot twist that I haven’t seen yet! While I don’t think this book deserved the low reviews it got on GoodReads, it felt like it only had one main hook to reel you in. The story had me on the edge of my seat a couple of times!
