“How are you recovering?”

Very well. I love this part of marathon training…the time off from running and exercise in general. The fluidity, less structure. For me, it tends to mean a little more sleep and “play.”

I also think it’s a good indication of what my relationship with running is. One that I want for as long as I can which means taking time away from it. And while my body feels 100%, I also know on a cellular level this body needs a break. We call this ✨science.

As a reminder, we don’t fuel by distance because “every 4 miles” looks different for everyone. We fuel by time and we practice that in training runs.

16 mile fit check!

I couldn’t dream of a better way to celebrate Pride than with thousands of New Yorkers in Central Park @nyrr @frontrunnersny Pride Run.

You’ve probably seen it said “pride keeps people alive” and it’s because people get to be themselves honestly. Isn’t that what we all deserve?

To my surprise, many of you found me on course and at the finish line to tell me you appreciated my content, messaging around fueling for health & performance, speaking honestly about being a human in eating disorder recovery navigating a world where staying small is applauded.

I met up with Erica to continue our planned long run simply astounded by this community of strong strangers whose lived experience is anything but strange.

In this house, you get to be yourself honestly. And every time you do, you allow someone else to feel like they can too. Wounds to wisdom.
