Part 3 of my 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025: Let’s talk RUG SIZING 🏡✨ Because nothing throws off a room faster than a rug that’s too small (and I promise it’s the most common mistake I see). Here’s what you need to know ⬇️ ✔️ Always size up — a bigger rug makes your space feel larger and more cohesive. ✔️ At least the front legs of your furniture should sit on the rug — it visually anchors the room. ✔️ Leave 8–12" of floor showing around the rug edges for balance. ✔️ In the bedroom, the rug should extend 18–24" past each side of the bed (no tiny rugs under a king bed 😅). ✔️ Dining chairs should stay on the rug even when pulled out — 24" beyond the table is ideal. ✔️ Layer smaller rugs over jute or sisal bases to get that designer look for less. If you take away one thing from this video: when in doubt, go bigger. The right rug size completely transforms your space. 🫶🏼 Would you want me to make a room-by-room rug size guide next? 👀 LTKHome
