Because nothing throws off a room faster than a rug that’s too small (and I promise it’s the most common mistake I see).
Here’s what you need to know ⬇️
✔️ Always size up — a bigger rug makes your space feel larger and more cohesive.
✔️ At least the front legs of your furniture should sit on the rug — it visually anchors the room.
✔️ Leave 8–12" of floor showing around the rug edges for balance.
✔️ In the bedroom, the rug should extend 18–24" past each side of the bed (no tiny rugs under a king bed 😅).
✔️ Dining chairs should stay on the rug even when pulled out — 24" beyond the table is ideal.
✔️ Layer smaller rugs over jute or sisal bases to get that designer look for less.
If you take away one thing from this video: when in doubt, go bigger. The right rug size completely transforms your space. 🫶🏼

Here’s your checklist for a cleaner, fresher home:

1️⃣ Change your AC filter monthly — this one’s huge for air quality. It helps your HVAC system run more efficiently, lowers dust buildup, and keeps allergens and pet dander under control. You’ll literally breathe easier. 🌬️

2️⃣ Use an air purifier — especially if you have pets. It helps remove dust, odors, and invisible particles floating in the air (think pollen, bacteria, even candle soot). I keep one running in our bedroom and main living area 24/7. 🐾

3️⃣ Change your bedding weekly — sheets collect sweat, oils, and skin cells (gross but true). I stick to white bedding because it’s easy to bleach and sanitize, and I keep multiple sets on hand so I can rotate them easily. Crisp white sheets = instant hotel vibes. 🤍

4️⃣ Vacuum + mop weekly — don’t wait for visible dirt. Consistent cleaning keeps your floors truly clean and prevents grime from building up. Pro tip: vacuum slowly to actually lift dust and allergens, and use a gentle floor cleaner that won’t dull finishes. 🧹✨

1️⃣ Watts (W): This used to be the main way we measured brightness — but now it’s often replaced with lumens. Higher lumens = brighter light. You’ll still see watts listed, but for modern LED bulbs, lumens are the number that really tell you how bright the bulb will be.

2️⃣ Kelvin (K): This measures the color temperature of the light.
• 2700K–3000K → warm, golden glow (my favorite for that cozy, inviting vibe 🌤️)
• 3500K–4000K → bright, neutral white — great for kitchens & bathrooms
• 5000K+ → cool daylight — perfect for offices or task lighting

Personally, I’m team warm glow all the way — I want lighting that feels like golden hour, not a doctor’s office 😂
