Comment BANANA for the recipe in your DMs! 🍌

Y’all, I’ve been making this banana pudding for YEARS, and it has literally never let me down. Not only is it the easiest recipe, people beg for this at events! I got this recipe from a sweet friend’s grandma, and my added touch is the shortbread Chessman cookies from @pepperidgefarm

Make it, but be warned, you’ll be making this forever every family gathering for many years!!

Ingredients:
3-4 ripe bananas
1 package instant VANILLA pudding mix
2 cups cold, whole milk
1 can @eaglebrandmilk sweetened condensed milk
1 package Cool Whip
1 package shortbread cookies

In a bowl, mix your pudding mix and sweetened condensed milk, and regular milk. Let it set up in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, slice your bananas and fold them into the pudding mix. I let it chill again for another 10 minutes. In a baking dish, layer your pudding mixture, cool whip and 1/2 package of cookies. Repeat the layer. Save 1 cookie to crumble and sprinkle on top. Chill for one hour and enjoy!!!

🇺🇸Comment CAKE for the recipe and link to buy this adorable cake pan in your DMs🇺🇸

This Strawberry Poke Cake will be the most popular dish of your Summer! This one is a throwback to my childhood summers because my best friend’s Mama always made this for our summer gatherings….and it never lasted long! It was a favorite then, and it still is today. ❤️💙🤍

🇺🇸RECIPE BELOW🇺🇸

1 box yellow cake mix (prepared like the box says) usually you need eggs, oil and water.

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 bag frozen strawberries
1 container whipped topping
Fresh strawberries (or berries of your choice) to top

Preheat your oven, and mix and bake up a yellow cake mix according to the box instructions. While your cake is baking, add your frozen strawberries to a bowl and let them start melting down in their own juices. Don’t be afraid to microwave it for about a minute at a time, if you need to speed it a long. Once the cake is done and cooled a bit, but not all the way, poke holes in your cake with the handle end of a spatula. Cover it with an entire can of sweetened condensed milk. Now, blending the strawberries with an immersion blender is totally optional, but I think it’s adds a little something. You could also just mash them up with a fork. Pour over your cake. Next step, top your cake with an entire container of whipped topping. Now let the whole thing set, covered in the fridge for at least one hour. Overnight would be even better. When you’re ready to serve, take it out and top with berries. Will be the most requested recipe at summer get together this year…guaranteed!!!!

Y’all enjoy. ❤️

Don’t you just love going through old recipes, or is that just me? I’m from the South, so we have more than a few of these old church lady cookbooks hanging around, and they are full of pure gold! Some of these old recipes are questionable, but some are just plain delicious! This one for Party Rice is no exception. Written by Mrs. Lucille Bullock in the Foods for Feasting cookbook published in the East Texas Pineywoods in 1981, this recipe will knock your socks off! I can see why it’s called Party Rice. This is definitely one of those must haves for any dinner party! RECIPE BELOW ⬇️

Ingredients:
2 cups rice (I used jasmine rice)
1 can beef broth
1 can beef consommé
1 stick butter
1 onion diced
1 cup water

Option: Two diced chicken breast, marinated in 1/4 cup olive oil and 1 package onion soup mix.

Preheat your oven to 350. In a saute pan, melt your butter and cook your onions until they are translucent. In your baking dish, add rice and all other ingredients. Mix it well, and then add your butter and onions to the baking dish. Cook UNCOVERED (yes, that’s how Mrs. Bullock did it!) for 1 hour. Take out of the oven, fluff with a fork and enjoy!!

Y’all KNOW how much I love pasta, and it’s so hard to find a good pasta with lots of protein and fiber! Pastabilities has been an absolute game changer for me this year. It tastes like really, really good pasta! It doesn’t have that weird grainy texture, or some weird aftertaste. I made this chicken pasta salad with Italian dressing, a ton of veggies, chicken breast and fresh feta cheese. Each serving has over 50g of protein! Y’all know Chicken & Dumplings are an art if you’re from the South! I know there are a few different ways to make it, and we all probably do it a bit differently. This is how my family likes it, and it’s as easy as can be! I use homemade bone broth, but you can absolutely use store-bought.

Comment SANDWICH below for the recipe to this Epic Caprese Grilled Cheese! I’m not sure why I decided to put the elements of a Caprese Sald in a grilled cheese sandwich, but I have zero regrets here. This. Was. Epic. I already need another.

RECIPE ⬇️

2 slices sourdough bread
1 tablespoon really good olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
3-4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
1 sliced tomato
Fresh basil, to taste
Salt, pepper
Balsamic glaze, to taste

Coat your bread with your olive oil, and top with mozzarella cheese. In a hot, nonstick pan with melted butter, toast up your sandwich. To get your cheese extra melty, pour about 2 tablespoons of water into your pan and immediately cover. Let it cook for about 2 minutes on medium heat, and uncover. Your cheese will be super melty and your bread nice and crusty. Take out your sandwich, and top with tomato, salt, pepper and basil. Then top with a nice balsamic glaze. Enjoy!

Comment STEAK below for the recipe and links to shop what I used! I have no words for this dish…it was astounding in every way! Using Noble Ox seasoning from @homewetbar made this steak so full of flavor. I can’t wait to try it on other meats (and veggies, too!) This sandwich had so much flavor like arugula, Gruyère cheese…..just so yum!!

RECIPE:

1 well marbled ribeye steak
1 Tablespoon Noble Ox Steak Seasoning
2 ciabatta rolls
1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
I cup arugula

Garlic Horseradish Aioli:
2 Tablespoons Duke’s Mayonnaise
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon @mailleus whole-grain mustard

Start by making your garlic horseradish aioli, and set aside. Coat steak with seasoning, and cook to medium rare on a cast iron pan. Top ciabatta rolls with cheese, close sandwiches and warm in a 200 degree oven while you’re cooking your steak. Once steak is done and rested, take out rolls and pull sandwiches apart. Top with steak, arugula and horseradish aioli. ENJOY!!!!!
