while my 40s have genuinely been my favorite decade so far, they’ve also humbled me a little

1. no sun protection — your face starts looking sun tired instead of sun kissed.
2. yellowing teeth — it weirdly starts aging your whole face.
3. stress — you can suddenly SEE stress on people.
4. not drinking enough water — your face looks tired way faster.
5. not being consistent with tretinoin — your 40s are when consistency starts paying off BIG.
6. over bleaching hair — fried hair ages you fast.
7. ignoring sun spots — they start showing through makeup.
8. not strength training — muscle tone matters so much more now.
9. cheap denim — bad jeans become VERY obvious.
10. not getting enough sleep — your face snitches on you now.
11. trying too hard to dress young — it starts doing the opposite.
12. too much sugar — your face gets puffy so much faster.
13. over exfoliating — your skin barrier gets angry immediately now.
14. heavy makeup — lighter makeup suddenly looks way more expensive.
15. too much alcohol — the recovery time is honestly offensive.
16. overly arched brows — aggressive brows can make you look tired and angry at the same time.
17. neglecting the neck — your neck ages faster than your face honestly.

$42 and spent a decade figuring out how to actually look better as i age. here's everything that I did 1.the haircut - i had long hair for years and thought it was making me look younger. it was doing the opposite. 2.melasma - if you're struggling with this, you must try the Obagi Nu-Derm Clear. I can't link it because you need a script for it. Mix it with your tretinoin! I will link the one that is not a strong and you don't need a script for, but it will take longer to work. Also keeping the sun off my face is key. 3.lip lift - the lip lift shortened my philtrum and made my face more feminine looking 4.jeans - I could easily throw away all my other jeans and just keep this pair. These jeans have transformed my wardrobe 5.teeth bonding - small chips and uneven edges that id lived with forever. fixing them made me actually want to smile in photos. 6.Teeth bleaching - my teeth have never looked so white 7.skincare - the shift for me was focusing on barrier protection first, then layering in microneedling and growth factors. Linked the products I use religiously. Let me know if you want me to mention what lasers and treatments I get. 8.makeup - started focusing more on a classic look rather than a trendy look. All my go-to products are linked. 9. workouts - running kept me small but soft. lifting actually changed my shape in a way cardio never did. i've never felt more confident in my body. 10. Treatments- I get two fractionated coolpeels and at least 4 treatments of microneedling with PDGF a yr. Also get IPL done yearly and sculptra and Botox 11.style - stopped second guessing every bold choice and started wearing exactly what i want. how I microneedle at home:
1.cleanse your face thoroughly
2.apply numbing cream and wait 20-30 minutes (optional but recommended)
3.wipe off numbing cream
4.use rubbing alcohol and a cotton gauze to make sure your face is completely clean
5.apply hyaluronic acid serum as a glide
6.start at 0.25mm if you’re a beginner, work up to 0.5mm as your skin adjusts — go shallower around the eye area. No more than 0.25mm
7.use your microneedling device in small circular motions — forehead, cheeks, chin, neck
8.go over each area 2-3 times
9.apply a calming serum immediately after — I use peptides (calecim or biopelle)
10. Apply a skin protecting moisturizer, I like the epii
11.skip actives for 24 hours — no retinol, no vitamin C, no exfoliants
12.wait 48 hours before using red light
13.SPF the next morning without fail
13.repeat every 6 weeks
