WANT TO TO BUILD THE WARDROBE OF YOUR DREAMS? Read on… ⠀ 1. FEEL: The first thing you have to decide about your current wardrobe is how it makes you feel. Does it fill you with joy or fill you with dread? Notice its qualities - too many clothes, cluttered, disorganised? Can you easily find the items you need?⠀ ⠀ 2. ANALYSE: Does it represent you and the image you want to portray? Does have items in a variety of colours and patterns that suit your complexion? Which items flatter your body shape? Does your wardrobe suit your lifestyle? Did you compromise when you bought those pieces? Are there lots of items still with tags on? Do you only or mainly shop the sales because you perceive it to be good value? Really think about what your wardrobe in its current state is telling you. ⠀ 3. EDIT: Go through item by item and really decide whether you love it or not and why. Be ruthless. Even if it’s not very clear how you feel about an item, notice whether it’s the fabric, colour or fit. That’s making you unsure. Divide them into 3 piles;⠀ ⠀ A - the items that fill you with joy, that you love and want to keep⠀ B - the items you do like and have worn but are just not quite right but with some alteration could be a great fit C - items you definitely dislike, don’t wear or need to be replaced D - can you create more than three looks with an item? ⠀ 4. REORGANISE: Sort your wardrobe by category and colour, i.e. shirts, dresses, blazers, trousers from light to dark, etc. That way you know where exactly each item is. Also place accessories, lingerie and shoes in proper boxes and racks so they keep their shape and are visible so they get worn ⠀ It takes a bit of time and effort to reorganise your wardrobe but once it’s done, it’s easier to maintain, you’ll be able to see what you own and wear it all a lot more. Everything will be easy to locate and getting dressed with fill you with joy instead of dread. ⠀ If the task seems a little daunting and you need the help of an expert pair of eyes then let’s talk.
