I did do the upper body work that I missed yesterday. I wanted to get it done still and I did. Things don’t always go the way that you plan. You work with the alternatives and options do you have!

Tomorrow I was follow the plan and and prepare for the rest of the week.

It is not always fun waking up early to get my workout done. During the week, it’s my truly my only option if I want a quality work. Whenever I’ve decided to do it later in the day, there’s always something that comes up and it either distracts me while I’m doing the work out or prevents me from working out at all. Even on the weekends, the nap time runs are a struggle when I can do them. It could be partly mental, but also I’m 2-3 meals and running doesn’t feel great #iykyk

Yes, I would like an extra hour sleep, but I also like getting up, getting my body moving, and checking my workout off in my to do list.

Started a new @trainestcoach program today! A 20-minute treadmill run and lower body strength training.

Fun in the sun today

I feel like I’m still trying to learn how to do a progression run. My @trainestcoach plan had this one on the schedule for today. I was to jog for 8 minutes,medium pace for 8 minutes and then fast for 4. I should’ve been more strategic so the fast part would’ve been on the flatter part of the run, but reality is a lot of races I do end with hills and then a nice mini straight away. I’m trying to get ready as best I can.

It just reminded me that consistency matters. Showing up matters. The not so fun work matters. Results don’t come overnight. In my experience, they come with time, practice, and effort.

30 minute easy run. Today was a scheduled rest day, but I felt that I could get a little bit of movement in. I kept my pace, easy and listened to my book.

Normally on Tuesdays, I run outside but today I knew little guy would benefit from some extra sleep…. And the winds were still wild. He was up moving around until after 10 PM yesterday 🥴

Short fast intervals on the treadmill are tricky because when you ramp up the speed you feel like you’re gonna fly off. I had the set to incline at 1.0 and held on for the first couple of seconds. I averaged about .20 for distance. I followed up with some strength moves. @trainestcoach did their thing with this plan. I’m feeling pretty strong 😉

Sunday morning on the couch😁💙

These last two days of workouts with my @trainestcoach program.

Yesterday- Progression Run-
8 minute Jog, 8 Minutes Medium-I went with 10K pace, 4 minutes- 5K pace

Today- 5-90 seconds with 90 second recovery

With both of these runs, I created workouts in my Garmin app to be able to track my splits and pace. I put in target paces to help keep me on track. I used to find that annoying, but now I’m finding it to be strategic. When I got the too fast notification, I did slow up a little bit and when I got too slow, I sped up. I have been running for years and I’m still trying to figure it out pacing. Each workout followed up with some core, strength, and stretching.

A total of 15 miles for the week!
