I tried Starbucks new chocolate pistachio loaf and it was just ehh okay. I knew I could make a better version at home for the cost of the one loaf slice. That’s what I did, perfectly pistachio and moist topped with chocolate ganache icing and crushed pistachios. It definitely has a slightly artificial pistachio taste but we took the easy way out by doctoring a box cake mix and pudding mix, but there is oddly comfort in those flavors.

Cream cheese frosting doesn’t have to be complicated.

Ingredients:
* 2 cups (4 sticks) of unsalted butter
* 1(8oz) package of cream cheese
* 2(32oz) Ibs of powdered sugar
* 4 tablespoons of fresh-squeezed lemon juice
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. In a stand mixer, mix the softened butter on medium speed for 10 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
2. Add the cream cheese to the butter and cream together until smooth, about 4 minutes.
3. Add in the vanilla extract, lemon juice and salt to the bowl and mix well until incorporated.
4. Slowly add the powdered sugar in four batches and mix until well-smoothed.
5. Use to decorate your cakes and store extra in an airtight ziplock bag for up to 3 weeks in the fridge.

By cutting a 6 inch, 3 layer heart cake this way, I am able to get 12-16 well portioned sized slices.

Also did you know that 99% of the time, the heart cake you are seeing me decorate is my content cake? That is why I use cake drums and not boards. I will say this month only about 3 cakes I am decorating are for birthdays/special occasions, the rest are going to be the same cake decorated over and over again.

Turning my favorite childhood cereal into an indulgent cookie🌈

Ingredients:
* 1 cup of unsalted butter, room temperature
* 1 cup of packed brown sugar
* 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
* 2 large eggs
* 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
* 3¼ cup of all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
* 1 teaspoon of baking soda
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1 cup of Lucky Charms cereal, marshmallows too
* 2 cups of white chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup reserved Lucky Charms marshmallows
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 410°F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or grease them with cooking spray.�Set aside.
2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter for about 3 minutes.
3. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, and mix until well incorporated, light, and fluffy-about 3 minutes.
4. Beat the vanilla extract and eggs into the butter mixture until well incorporated.
5. Add in the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt, and mix until well incorporated.
6. Lastly, add the white chocolate chips and Lucky Charms cereal and mix on low until well incorporated.
7. Using a cookie scoop or large tablespoon, form the dough into balls of about the size of a tennis ball. Roll each ball in your hand to form a sphere shape.
8. Place each completed cookie dough ball on the baking sheet, about four inches between each. About six per tray.
9. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until just golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and immediately press into the warm cookies the reserved marshmallows.
11. Cool fully on the cookie tray. The cookies will be slightly underdone but will finish baking while cooling off.
12. Enjoy!

I was really inspired by this cherry blossom and floral printed pink silk dress from petal and pup one of my favorite dress brands. Around this time of the year, the cherry blossoms bloom in Japan, so the dress is the girly center point I wish to use curate this look around. The three mains colors I wanted to work around, were the baby pink with compliments of gold and rose gold. Paired with those three tones in jewelry, a baby pink purse and watch. Finally a matching pair of ballerina heels to match the bow ring and bracelet. To tie the whole pink and gold look together, the perfect shade of light pink lipstick and a floral scented perfume. I honestly love this dress and can’t wait to wear it myself this summer.

Ingredients:
* ½ cup unsalted browned butter
* ½ cup packed brown sugar
* ¼ cup granulated sugar
* 1 tablespoon molasses
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon cinnamon
* ½ teaspoon baking soda
* ¼ teaspoon salt
* 1 egg
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 and ½ cups old-fashioned oats
* ½ chopped walnuts
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C) degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or grease with cooking spray. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, beat together the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well incorporated.
3. Beat the molasses, vanilla extract, and egg into the butter mixture.
4. Add in cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Mix.
5. Add the flour slowly and mix.
6. Stir in the oats, raisins, and walnuts by hand using a spatula.
7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, form the dough into balls of about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons and place 2 inches apart on the lined cookie sheets.
8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
9. Remove from the oven and cool fully on the cookie tray.
10. Enjoy!

This weeks location is round two: The China Grand Prix OOTD 🇨🇳🏎️🏁

I was really inspired by this red skort and top set from revolve, it screams China’s love for the color red to me with the hints of gold. Those are the two main colors I wanted to work around, so a pair of gold heels and 3D floral overlay hand bag. To match the buttons on the top, I found button earrings to match. For the rest of the jewelry, a matching paperclip necklace and bracelet, a gold bangle, a floral necklace with a matching floral van clef dupe necklace to tie in the purse. A stack of silver rings and a ruby star ring. To tie the whole red and gold look together, the perfect shade of red lipstick and a floral scented perfume. I would so wear this outfit (I would wear any of these outfits to be truthful) and honestly will be purchasing the red set for the summer.

Pit Stop Sweets & Treats Round 1: Australian Neenish Tarts 🇦🇺

This is my third year doing this series, so buckle up we are back buttercups! This week the New South Wales bakery classic, Neenish tarts, made with jam, mock cream and icing in a tart shell.

Honestly these were just okay, not my fav Aussie treat. Previously for this series in the past, I have made Lamingtons and Pavlova and those were so delicious. Seriously I dream about lamingtons, possibly the best dessert in this series. Sorry to the aussies, this one was not great for me.

Sometimes you just need an over indulgent fudge brownie to satisfy your sweet tooth!

There is no actual recipe other than adding walnuts and chocolate chips to the batter before baking. Letting the brownies cool before topping with melted chocolate, store bought caramel sauce and more crushed walnuts. Let everything set in the fridge for 10 minutes before enjoying with a glass of milk.

I was really inspired by the golden coast, fun summer colors and beach sunsets for this outfit. I wanted to go for a more maximalist look, with the multicolored chiffon dress. The sandal heels being in a yellow color to slyly match the dress, and the YSL purse that has been on my wishlist for months, being in the same subtle color as the blush on the dress. The gold jewelry pulls from the gold tones in the purse and yellow heels. I also chose no necklace because the dress a high neckline. Lastly of course we need sunglasses in sunny Australia so a pale pink to match the dress and purse.

If you want a chocolate buttercream that is light and airy in flavor, this recipe is for you.

Ingredients:
* 2 cups (4 sticks) of unsalted butter
* 1 (15oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
* 1½ cups of sifted unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
1. In a stand mixer, mix the softened butter on medium speed for 10 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
2. Empty the can of sweetened condensed milk into the mixer and mix until well incorporated.
3. Add in the vanilla extract and salt, and mix on medium speed until well incorporated.
4. Finally, add the cocoa powder to the buttercream, cover the bowl/stand mixer with a hand towel or plastic wrap, and mix on medium speed until the cocoa powder has been fully incorporated.
5. Use to decorate your cakes and store extra in an airtight ziplock bag for up to 6 weeks in the fridge.

Spring is almost here and lighter frostings on cake is the go to for the hotter months. It’s time to bring back whipped cream frostings, especially when tres leches season is right around the corner.

Ingredients:
* 1 quart (4 cups) of heavy cream
* 3-4 cups of powdered sugar
* 1 packet of jello/pudding mix (flavor of your choice)
* 1 tsp of vanilla extract
* 1(14oz) can of sweetned condensed milk
* 2-3 drops of food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
1. Freeze the metal mixing bowl, metal whisk attachment and heavy whipping cream in the freezer for 15-25 minutes before starting on the whipped cream
2. Pour the heavy cream into the metal bowl and beat on low-medium for 3-5 minutes until soft peaks form
3. Add the pudding/jello mix, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, mix until incorporated
4. Slowly add the powdered sugar while mixing on medium speed
5. Beat the whipped cream frosting until all ingredients are well incorporated and stiff peaks have formed
6. Optional: add a few drops of food coloring to the whipped cream and beat until incorporated
Notes:
* This frosting is great for crumb coating and icing cakes however keep the icing must stay cold so do not leave it out in the a hot/humid environment
* To flavor the frosting, chose that flavor of jello/pudding mix, i.e. for strawberry whipped cream frosting use strawberry pudding mix
* Do not skip the step of freezing your bowl, whisk and heavy whipping cream, it is crucial in getting perfect stiff peaks and not accidentally creating butter and buttermilk (it has happened to me)
