Spring is almost here and lighter frostings on cake is the go to for the hotter months. It’s time to bring back whipped cream frostings, especially when tres leches season is right around the corner. . Recipe at the end for you to screenshot🤍 . Ingredients: * 1 quart (4 cups) of heavy cream * 3-4 cups of powdered sugar * 1 packet of jello/pudding mix (flavor of your choice) * 1 tsp of vanilla extract * 1(14oz) can of sweetned condensed milk * 2-3 drops of food coloring (optional) Instructions: 1. Freeze the metal mixing bowl, metal whisk attachment and heavy whipping cream in the freezer for 15-25 minutes before starting on the whipped cream 2. Pour the heavy cream into the metal bowl and beat on low-medium for 3-5 minutes until soft peaks form 3. Add the pudding/jello mix, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, mix until incorporated 4. Slowly add the powdered sugar while mixing on medium speed 5. Beat the whipped cream frosting until all ingredients are well incorporated and stiff peaks have formed 6. Optional: add a few drops of food coloring to the whipped cream and beat until incorporated Notes: * This frosting is great for crumb coating and icing cakes however keep the icing must stay cold so do not leave it out in the a hot/humid environment * To flavor the frosting, chose that flavor of jello/pudding mix, i.e. for strawberry whipped cream frosting use strawberry pudding mix * Do not skip the step of freezing your bowl, whisk and heavy whipping cream, it is crucial in getting perfect stiff peaks and not accidentally creating butter and buttermilk (it has happened to me) . whippedcream frostingrecipe baking recipe
