As a mom to 2 young kids living in a pandemic, I have experienced a plethora of emotions- frustration, anger, sadness, feeling overwhelmed, loneliness interspersed with little moments of happiness. The little moments of happiness come when I make a conscious decision to live in the moment. I can’t change the past and I can’t predict the future, but I know my kids aren’t going to be little forever and I have been making every effort to put down my phone and enjoy spending time with them- even if it’s as simple as going on a nature walk. I have to say, it’s been really hard - really hard to parent during this challenging time. On Instagram, we see beautiful pictures and idyllic images. But these are just a snapshot of what is going on in our lives. In reality, I’m not perfect. I’m just trying my hardest to stay afloat on some days. . We never know the full story or what goes on behind closed doors- that is why we can never make assumptions about people’s lives. We all have emotions, struggles and problems. And that’s ok- instead of judging other moms on their decisions or opinions, let’s just be kind. The world could always use more kindness. Any moms like to share their pandemic challenges?
