*PLEASE READ** . . The @bahamas is a special place for me...I have been there 4 times. The most recent trip was for my babymoon. I am always received by the friendliest of people and am constantly in awe of the natural beauty of the islands. This is the place I celebrated the miracle of being pregnant with my second ivf baby. I swam in the clear waters while feeling the fluttering of a little heartbeat inside of me. The place has this ability to melt away your stress and give you a sense of peace. The oceans are filled with active sea life- from sharks to colorful reef fish to sea turtles. It’s a place that reminds you to take a step back and appreciate the little things in life. . . . FLASH FORWARD: Grand Bahama and great Abaco were hit 3 times by an Category 5 hurricane last week. According to @cnn , the death toll has risen to over 30 deaths and the aftermath of the hurricane has left 70,000 people homeless. . . . TODAY I want to use my influence as a digital creator to give back. It is a great responsibility for all influencers to help society and those in need and I was so sad when I read the message posted by Bahamanian @itscryan and photographer @byjamiebruce . The post basically says that he was shocked that influencers will come to the island to take pictures but after the Bahamas was hit by Hurricane Dorian, very few took to social media to bring attention to the destruction of Grand Bahama and Abaco in the wake of the hurricane’s path. A big thank you big Influencers like @marisa for mentioning this issue. Retailers like @veronicabeard and @vineyardvines are also making donations. I am stepping up today and saying that I will donate a $1 to the @bahamas_redcross_society for every comment I receive below. Also follow @thecoveatlantis @atlantisbahamas who are teaming up with local chefs and rescue aids to provide food and other essentials to those that have been displaced from their homes.
