Mom Guilt. The fear of “Did I just ruin her childhood?” rushed through me. The fear that now she won’t feel safe with me, especially as she enters her teenage years. Why can’t I control my anger? The thoughts went on and on… and then I snapped out of it, remembering that I can make it right. After school, my daughter rushed into my arms and told me she missed me so much—and I just burst into tears. What am I, to receive this kind of love? I’m so humbled by their love, and grateful that I had the chance to make it right and apologize.
