Today we’re talking builder-grade glow-ups — because even if your home started basic, it doesn’t have to stay that way 👇🏼

1️⃣ Paint. It’s the easiest but most time-consuming update — and worth every second. Most builder-grade homes come with one flat paint color throughout, so adding depth and contrast instantly makes it feel custom.

2️⃣ Cabinet hardware. They always give you the cheapest option to save money — but this is an easy, affordable fix. I’ve been loving brushed nickel and polished silver for a timeless, elevated look.

3️⃣ Light fixtures. Most come with nothing but standard bulbs (yikes). Start small: update your kitchen pendants or entryway lighting for a big impact.

4️⃣ Window treatments. If you still have those plastic blinds — remove them immediately 😅 I love roman shades or pinch pleat curtains for a finished, designer look.

5️⃣ Undercabinet lighting. My personal fave DIY! I use mine daily — it creates the prettiest soft glow at night and makes your kitchen feel high-end.

1️⃣ Color drenching — Painting your walls, trim, and even ceiling the same color actually makes the room feel larger and more cohesive (dark colors can totally work here!) 🎨
2️⃣ Ceiling-height curtains — I love a custom pinch-pleat curtain hung as high as possible. It instantly elongates your walls and gives that elevated, designer look. 🪟
3️⃣ Oversized area rugs — Bigger is always better. A large rug visually expands the floor space and grounds the room beautifully. 🏠

Part 3 of my 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025: Let’s talk RUG SIZING 🏡✨
Because nothing throws off a room faster than a rug that’s too small (and I promise it’s the most common mistake I see).
Here’s what you need to know ⬇️
✔️ Always size up — a bigger rug makes your space feel larger and more cohesive.
✔️ At least the front legs of your furniture should sit on the rug — it visually anchors the room.
✔️ Leave 8–12" of floor showing around the rug edges for balance.
✔️ In the bedroom, the rug should extend 18–24" past each side of the bed (no tiny rugs under a king bed 😅).
✔️ Dining chairs should stay on the rug even when pulled out — 24" beyond the table is ideal.
✔️ Layer smaller rugs over jute or sisal bases to get that designer look for less.
If you take away one thing from this video: when in doubt, go bigger. The right rug size completely transforms your space. 🫶🏼

🧼✨ “Hygiene for your home” — because while I love decorating, a happy home starts with being clean, healthy, and high-functioning.

Here’s your checklist for a cleaner, fresher home:

1️⃣ Change your AC filter monthly — this one’s huge for air quality. It helps your HVAC system run more efficiently, lowers dust buildup, and keeps allergens and pet dander under control. You’ll literally breathe easier. 🌬️

2️⃣ Use an air purifier — especially if you have pets. It helps remove dust, odors, and invisible particles floating in the air (think pollen, bacteria, even candle soot). I keep one running in our bedroom and main living area 24/7. 🐾

3️⃣ Change your bedding weekly — sheets collect sweat, oils, and skin cells (gross but true). I stick to white bedding because it’s easy to bleach and sanitize, and I keep multiple sets on hand so I can rotate them easily. Crisp white sheets = instant hotel vibes. 🤍

4️⃣ Vacuum + mop weekly — don’t wait for visible dirt. Consistent cleaning keeps your floors truly clean and prevents grime from building up. Pro tip: vacuum slowly to actually lift dust and allergens, and use a gentle floor cleaner that won’t dull finishes. 🧹✨

5️⃣ Keep hypochlorous acid on hand — it’s my cleaning secret weapon. Naturally derived, non-toxic, and powerful enough to disinfect surfaces, kill bacteria, deodorize, and even refresh fabric. It’s safe for pets, kids, and sensitive skin — truly magic in a bottle. 💧

6️⃣ Run your diffuser daily — I keep mine going 24/7 with fresh, non-toxic essential oils. It makes your home smell clean even when you’re not there, helps purify the air, and creates that calm, cozy atmosphere that makes home feel like home. 🌿

✨ Episode 2: 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 ✨

Here’s what I always consider when shopping for them ⬇️

1️⃣ Height matters most. The lamp should complement the height of your headboard. Personally, I only go for large, oversized lamps on nightstands — anything under 20” feels too small.

2️⃣ The base is just as important. I love when it has visual weight — wide, substantial, and grounding. Skinny or slender bases tend to get lost next to furniture.

Once your foundation is solid, add your visual interest. This is where your personality really starts to shine through.
Art, mirrors, sconces, pendants, and table lamps all add depth and dimension.
A common mistake I see? Relying only on overhead lighting. Layered lighting makes your home feel warm, cozy, and designed.
If a room feels dull, it’s usually because this layer is missing.
🕯️ Top Layer — Styling Objects
This is your finishing touch — the detail that brings the whole story together.
Pillows, throws, trays, candles, vases, books, stems… these are the pieces that make a space feel lived in yet intentional.
Mix textures (glass + linen + wood), vary heights, and style in groups of three for that effortless designer look.

Choosing the right lightbulbs makes a huge difference in how your home feels — cozy and inviting vs. harsh and cold. Here’s how to actually read those lightbulb boxes 👇🏼

1️⃣ Watts (W): This used to be the main way we measured brightness — but now it’s often replaced with lumens. Higher lumens = brighter light. You’ll still see watts listed, but for modern LED bulbs, lumens are the number that really tell you how bright the bulb will be.

2️⃣ Kelvin (K): This measures the color temperature of the light.
• 2700K–3000K → warm, golden glow (my favorite for that cozy, inviting vibe 🌤️)
• 3500K–4000K → bright, neutral white — great for kitchens & bathrooms
• 5000K+ → cool daylight — perfect for offices or task lighting

Personally, I’m team warm glow all the way — I want lighting that feels like golden hour, not a doctor’s office 😂

💡Tip: Always check those two numbers on the box — lumens for brightness and K for warmth or coolness. They’ll tell you exactly how your space will look once the lights are on.
