There’s just something about taking the “basic” pieces in your closet and layering them in a way that makes you feel cute, comfortable, and a little more put together. 🤎

I think athletic wear gets a bad rep for feeling too casual sometimes, but honestly? A good pair of athletic shorts, an oversized pullover, a fitted tank, and some chunky gold jewelry can make you feel surprisingly elevated while still being comfortable enough to live real life in.

#ad I feel like flooring is one of those things you don’t fully appreciate… until you pick the
wrong one 😅

When we started this bathroom, I knew I wanted something that felt classic and timeless…but
also made sense for a space that’s going to get a lot of use.

We ended up going with the Style Selections® Sandyfield Oak luxury vinyl plank flooring from
Lowe’s, and it honestly set the tone for everything else.
It’s 100% waterproof (huge), scratch + dent resistant, and actually really approachable from a DIY standpoint…which made this whole process feel a lot less overwhelming.

Moral of the story: don’t overthink it… just start with a really good foundation and build from
there 🤍

Why I waited so long to share this project….

In all honesty, I’m still in shock that this project is happening. I’ve been dreaming about this happening for over 10 years.😱

But I didn’t want to share about it quite yet because…

1.) I didn’t want to get my hopes up / I wanted to keep my expectations low 😝something I’ve been working on for a loooonnnggg time 😬

2.) I didn’t want to come across like I was bragging. I understand what this project projects and I never want people to feel like “we have it all.” We’ve worked hard over the last decade to do a project like this and this isn’t a luxury we take for granted!

3.) A pool adds very little resale value to your home. Guy and I have been doing the real estate business for 11 years and we understand how the market works…pools don’t typically make sense from a profitability standpoint and we’ve just had to become ok with that.

BUT….there are a lot of reasons that ended up trumping these reasons. Head to PART 2 to see WHY we decided to put one in!

They’re about creating a feeling.

A backyard that invites people to slow down. A table that encourages everyone to stay just a little longer. Tiny details that make an ordinary evening feel like a memory you’ll want to revisit years from now.

These little gingham pennants did exactly that for our garden party. They instantly made the space feel nostalgic, collected, and like a European summer tucked into our own backyard.

And the best part? They were only **$12**, and one banner stretches **16 feet**, making them one of the easiest ways to transform an outdoor space without spending a fortune.

If you’re hosting anything this summer…from a garden party to a birthday, baby shower, or simple dinner with friends…these are worth having on hand.

For years, I just assumed not being “regular” was normal.

I’d go days without feeling like my digestion was working the way it should. I was constantly bloated, uncomfortable, and honestly just accepted that it was part of being an adult.

Then, about two months ago, I made one small change that has made a surprisingly big difference: I started adding 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to my oatmeal every single morning.

Combined with the fiber already found in oats, it’s become one of the easiest ways I’ve found to support my digestion. Since making it part of my morning routine, I’ve been consistently regular, my bloating has improved, and I simply feel better.

Of course, this wasn’t the only change I made while working on healing my gut, but it’s one habit that’s been incredibly easy to stick with and one I’ll continue long after my healing journey.

Being a content creator, there’s always this rush to dip into the next season before the one you’re in has even begun to close.

It can feel like you’re missing out on earning opportunities and potential. You feel it from every angle: Reels, Stories, Carousels, Trial Reels, TikTok, YouTube, newsletter subscribers…

But when I look at moments like this, all I want to do is relish the season I’m in. All I want to do is slow down the clock.

I don’t know about you, but I’m learning how to be a content creator who can still make a living doing this (because I truly love it) while also slowing down and remembering what’s most important.

I wasn’t meant to be a walking, talking billboard every second of my life. I’m allowed to love the moments happening right in front of me and share those too.

It doesn’t matter if brands don’t like it or if those moments don’t perform as well. I hope this gives you permission too.
