It’s a temple for worshipping God, not yourself. I’m sick of this verse being taken out of context. If I hear a Christian ‘coach’ say “yOuR bOdY iS a tEmpLe” one more time, I’m going to lose it. What does the “your body is a temple” verse ACTUALLY say? “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Translation: It’s a temple for worshipping what the Lord has done for you. What Jesus’ body did for you. Not to worship yourself and your 6 pack abs. Now if we want to talk about being a good STEWARD of what God created in His own image, then yeah I’m all about it. But don’t twist what scripture says to try and convince people that worshiping muscles and protein is the Christian thing to do.
