Spring decor doesn’t have to be single use! Swap out dark and heavy for light and simple and everything will feel a little fresher. I love this yellow and white striped ruffled pillow.

You guys loved this post a few weeks ago so I thought I would give you some more examples! 2026 for me is all about gratitude and celebrating the home I’ve created, not about perfection but about meaning and comfort (in a beautiful way of course).

Linking the curtains and Roman shade I love so much (I have a similar combo in several rooms, the trim on the curtains makes them so special!) and some great choices for a photo frames. You can use my code SUZANNAHSTANLEY for 25% off on the curtains and bamboo shades!

Im a purist for down comforters and natural fiber bedding, and I just found the perfect comforter to put in my basement guest room. This Sophia & William Feather and Down Comforter is cozy and warm without feeling heavy, which is exactly what I need in a basement guest room that needs some extra coziness. The box stitch construction keeps the down evenly distributed so it stays lofty and comfortable instead of shifting or clumping and it's got those corner loops to keep everything in place. And it has a super densely woven cotton fabric designed to prevent the feathers from poking through. It's also an amazing price point for a down and feather filled comforter with a cotton cover! Trust me, I can seriously nerd out about a good comforter and this one passes all the tests!

My home is lovely, but it’s not my dream, and it took me years of pining and feeling frustrated with its quirks, wishing for something different, and then I realized… I can love my home just the way it is, and still want something different in the future. It’s uncomfortable for me to not have a plan laid out, but with all the turns my life has taken the past few years, I’ve gotten a little more used to that.

I’m honestly so happy living in my home now. I’ve made the changes I could, never knocking down walls or doing a full renovation but starting with a foundation I liked (lots of warm white paint) and then adding beautiful details.

There’s no point feeling frustrated when it doesn’t make any sense for me to have bought my dream home at any point in my life thus far! But I can do so much, and feel so grateful, with what I have.

Even if you can’t do anything to your home, not even paint, you can still hang a Valentine’s garland, pick out dishes that make you happy, get yourself some fresh flowers…! No need to wait for the perfect home.

I searched for months and could not find antique or vintage dressers or nightstands for the guest room I’m working on in my basement. I love an antique when I can find one, but it wasn’t happening!

But I finally found these charming dark wood nightstands from @hulala_home. They’re solid wood construction and have some beautiful details that make them feel perfect for this sort of vintage-inspired guest room. Plus, they have some modern conveniences, like the fact that they plug into the wall, so lamps and phone chargers can plug right into them.

They’re perfect for small, efficient spaces because not only are they nightstands, they also have three drawers for great storage. Perfect for this funny little nook in our basement that I’ve turned into a sweet, charming guest room.

These are also super affordable, linked in my LTK and in my bio!

Very happy and honestly a little surprised at how cute this room turned out! It’s a basement so I didn’t have high hopes… I threw something together before Christmas, but it needed a little bit more cohesive planning, including better nightstands, lamps, and styling… And the all white bedding really helped to make it not feel thrown together! Plus, is there anywhere a jute rug doesn’t look good? I seriously can’t think of anywhere.

#LTKSeasonal #LTKHome
The other day I shared this vintage floral Ethan Allen chair in stories and got some questions. But I can’t link it! I’ve found a great balance of vintage/antique and custom or otherwise new in my bedroom and I love it so much.

#LTKHome
I shared recently I’m excited to decorate for little holidays throughout the year like Valentine’s Day and Easter. One of you pointed out that St. Patrick’s Day and is next and I was like… Oh crap… That doesn’t sound as cute. Ideas welcome😂❤️

#LTKHome #LTKValentine #LTKSeasonal
I heard this advice years ago and have thought about it plenty since… The idea is white is a great background for a beautiful, often colorful things. Like an art gallery, with large, plain walls that allow the art to shine.

I love my classic white kitchen, but I also love my peachy pink bedroom… What do you think?!

I’ve resolved to be a more fun mom and turns out it’s fun for me, too! I started small with gingerbread house plates at Christmas, but I am leaning in lately and we are all loving the cute, seasonal decor, even in a dark, sad, rainy season like winter. The pink and hearts really bring joy!

Rounded up my favorite Valentine’s plates, mugs, and other simple additions in this post!

Here’s ago I cohosted a design podcast and every year I would get excited about researching the trends for the next year. I would pore over articles and come up with what I thought was a good summary that made sense for the design community here on Instagram.

But it’s different now… It feels like everything has been done before, which means we’re coming back to the best of the best.

2026 design is leaning into depth over drama:
• Pattern drenching that feels layered and cohesive, not loud
• Nostalgia and memory as a design direction — pieces that feel familiar, comforting, and collected over time, or our beautiful to you because of a memory
• Handmade and artisan details that add texture, variation, and soul
• Rooms that feel collected, not styled all at once
• Atmosphere over visual impact — how a space feels to live in matters more than how it photographs!

None of this is about chasing what’s new. It’s about creating rooms that hold meaning, feel lived in, and get better the longer you’re there. It’s not hard to do, but we sometimes get away from it with the temptations of Target and HomeGoods fast home fashion.

If your home feels calm, layered, and a little nostalgic, you’re not behind in design trends, and I bet your home feels wonderful, too!

#LTKHome
I keep seeing “2026 trends” pop up, and what makes me smile is how many of them are about keeping instead of replacing.

These are the design directions showing up everywhere right now, and they all happen to be things I’ve slowly layered into this house over time:

• Soft tailoring over minimalism (pleated linen curtains, added details like trim and piping)
• New traditional that feels relaxed, not precious
• Natural materials that age well instead of looking perfect on day one
• Warm whites paired with warm metals, especially in kitchens
• Full wallpaper as the new statement wall, used to create atmosphere instead of a moment
• Collected spaces that feel lived-in rather than decorated all at once

None of this required a big refresh or chasing something new. It’s the kind of design that rewards patience, good bones, and choosing things you actually love living with.

Trends come and go, but homes built this way tend to feel good for a long time.

If you’re saving this, you’re probably already doing more “right” than you think 🤍

I helped my friend update her living room and I am shocked at the change the rug made!

Before, it wasn't the style she wanted for her home and we needed a bigger rug. Enter this thick cozy lovely wool rug from @joonloloi in a large enough size for this room. She would love to replace the carpet with hardwood floors but until then a big rug makes the whole room feel bigger and intentional.

We have a lot of light colors and beiges in here in different tones and somehow they all work together really nicely and a comfortable rug in this sturdy wool adds a great feel of quality.

For a while I thought the curtains were the biggest change in this room but now I think it might be the rug, what do you guys think?! So here's your reminder that a great rug is an essential foundation for a room update!

#LTKHome
I love changes for my home that are beautiful AND bring me joy. I’ve learned that by upgrading things that I use everyday, I honestly feel luxury even with a simple home!

1. Frame family photos (iPhone ones are fine! I do a mix of color and b/w). The trick is to order them online, not from Walgreens, for good photo quality, and use tabletop frames instead of wall ones for the most part for a more relaxed and grown-up feel.

2. Organize something that’s driving you crazy. I looove this tea box and it’s so much better than dealing all the little boxes! But tackle whatever is bugging you most. Having one success will give you energy for the next!

3. Poly pillow inserts are sad and flat. Down ones are so much nicer and more fun to sit with and scrunch. Plus they look better. I recommend inserts with 100% cotton covers, and go 1-2” larger than your pillow cover for a fuller look.

4. Flag Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, whatever… get fun napkins, plates, flowers, etc. or garlands like I did for Valentine’s Day this year. I thought I’d do it for the kids but I actually love it myself. 🙌

Here’s to loving our homes ❤️

#LTKSeasonal #LTKHome
I’ll admit I’m not usually a Valentine’s Day decor person but this year after Christmas it felt too bare and boring. Adding cheerful colorful felt garlands and eating snacks off heart plates has brought some joy.

Plus, after Christmas, decorating for all the other holidays feels like a freebie, right?! So easy!

I’m linking some fave heart decor and kitchen goodies for you below. Fun for the kids and for you. 💕❤️

I struggled with this wall for the longest time! I wanted to provide storage but couldn't find something long enough. Finally I found this incredible beautiful oak furniture piece from Hernest. Lots of solid wood details, plus it came fully assembled except for the hardware. I love displaying our family photos on top of it too. The warm tone works really well with my living room, and they have several beautiful wood choices that work in lots of different styles, all super affordable.

So happy to have this elegant toy and book storage!

#LTKHome
I’m usually not a big Valentine’s Day decor person, but I’m having fun this year in part to my five-year-old’s enthusiasm. It feels good to put up some cheer after taking down the Christmas stuff! Loving garlands, ribbon on everything, and a little quirkiness. Linking some favorite decor pieces and dishes we’ve been using for the kids snacks!

#LTKHome #LTKSeasonal
Wearing basically the exact same outfit as yesterday with a different color of the same ribbed tee underneath. Guess I know what I like.

This cozy merino wool blend sweater is lightweight but so cozy. I just ordered it in the pink (extra 60% off sale). These high waisted wide leg jeans are my absolute favorite and I own in several colors; I cut these ones off for an easier cropped length. I often get compliments IRL!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKFindsUnder50 #LTKmomlife
At the end of each year I order a bunch of iPhone photos in nice quality prints and get a bunch of silver and pretty frames to frame them around the house. I honestly sometimes just can’t believe that this is my life and I have these two wonderful children so I get a little sappy but I loooove being able to frame these memories and show them off in a pretty way.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like the trend of family pictures on the wall is kind of tired… but now tabletop frames are back! And they are so fun and charming.

Get frames that you love and photos that you love and bring yourself some extra joy every time you look at them!

I order my photos from @mpix; I’ve heard @nationsphotolab is great too. I get frames at estate sales, thrifting, and HomeGoods. Linking some great choices here.

#LTKSeasonal #LTKmomlife #LTKHome
This cozy merino wool blend pointelle cardigan is so cute and 60% off the sale price. Now I’m thinking I should’ve ordered the pink, I might order another! It’s so soft!

I’m not sure if they’re 2026 decor trends or resolutions or just ideas, but these came to me as I was thinking about how I love my home more than ever these days and I hope you can, too.

You find your joy but for me, lately it’s been:
- Family photos in classic silver tabletop frames (remember when we shunned tabletop frames? I used to have zero)
- The curtains that took me a year to pick (but now I have in three rooms with slight variation)
- Antique and vintage ones but, like, nicer ones. Not shabby farmhouse, but classics I feel like a grownup when I buy ❤️
- Celebrating when I come home. My home is right for me and my family; isn’t that an incredible thing?!

What are you doing in your home this year?! 👏

So excited for this reveal because this room has come such a long way. My friend's living room was just not giving the style that she wanted for her fun family-friendly home.

First I taught her to wallpaper: we covered the entire walls in this lovely little floral pattern from A-Street Prints.

We replaced the builder blinds with these lovely natural bamboo roman shades and linen curtains (use my code Suzannah26 for 26% off!), added a much larger wool rug, of course some fun accessories including white and brass and gold, and some warm wood and bamboo and rattan tones because there were so many light colors in here.

My friend loves a light and fresh style and this is her front room so it's very important for it to feel welcoming and like her. We are so happy with how this room turned out and love the texture the wallpaper added!

#LTKHome
Headed to my Christmas present massage 🎉 and wearing the coziest sweater. Been wearing this or the red one basically nonstop this holiday break. So warm, all natural fibers, plus so fun! And they come in so many great colors.

#LTKSeasonal
Christmas got its moment… and now January is here with fresh sheets and my favorite January palette.

I always love blues this time of year. They feel calm, fresh, and maybe just structured enough after all the holiday cozy. Is blue and white groundbreaking? Absolutely not. 😂

But whatever changes you’re making as you take down the tree and Xmas… It doesn’t have to be original! It just has to feel good!
If you want your home to feel more intentional this year, you do *not* need to buy trendier things. Having a beautiful and carefully designed home is about making a few smarter, foundational choices.

1️⃣ Size matters.
Undersized rugs and too-narrow curtains instantly make a room feel like a first apartment. Going bigger (even when it feels bigger than you neeeed) creates that grounded, intentional look designers rely on. I finally got a 22’ long rug for my living room this year, and these pleated curtains on this 7’ wide window can actually close!

2️⃣ Materials matter so much, and you can’t usually get the good stuff on Amazon without careful searching.
Natural fibers, real wood, stone, linen, wool—these bring warmth and depth that no trendy, cheaper, big box finish can fake. Plus they hold up and even look better over time!

3️⃣ Mix sources.
The most interesting homes don’t come from one store. Blending old with new, vintage with retail, and high with low is what gives a space character and that lived-in, collected feel.

None of this requires a total overhaul. It’s about editing, upgrading the right pieces, and letting your home feel layered instead of rushed. If you feel inspired to make changes to your home in 2026, start here!

A tad overdressed for my suburban errands before dinner. 🙃 Quince silk skirt and incredible quality wool coat, plus still loving these suede boots!

#LTKootd #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
Who’s ready to get out of Christmas break mode?! Trying to get glamorous for the beginning of the year and I love navy for January. Love this silk skirt from Quince and this cashmere structured sweater. The most incredible part of this outfit is this Italian wool double breasted coat which is a lovely 100% wool. (I cannot believe the quality on their wool coats for the price.)

Clearly we can go millennial mom uniform in these combos or a little more professional pairing this structured casual sweater with some jeans.

It's such an upgrade to use high quality materials like these cashmere, yak wool, wool, and silk pieces and they're all at amazing prices thanks to Quince's methods. Check them out linked in my LTK!

We’re trying a new tradition this year of doing stockings upstairs in our room, so I hung these larger ones on the banister. Micah’s parents had a fireplace in their room and always did stockings there (for all 7, yes 7 children) and I’m all for trying new special things at Christmas and I’m happy he can bring in one of his traditions. ❤️ So the stockings in the mantel are just decorative (and Lucy plays with them), and I’ll have to just hope no one wakes up in the middle of the night and walks in on stuffed stockings. Anyone else do stockings upstairs?

#LTKHoliday #LTKHome #LTKSeasonal
Panic dump of all the photos. I haven’t shared yet because IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!! That reminds me, I still need to buy stocking stuffers.

#LTKHome #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
Stills of the home I love so much decorated for Christmas. So grateful. For the tiny percentage of you who want longer form content, and for the people who don’t follow me on here, I shared a blog post this week with all my Christmas decor images, including some you probably haven’t seen yet and sources. Up on the blog now. Merry Christmas, world ❤️🎄

You guys have been loving these barrel cords! They’re still on sale! I have them in two colors! I size up in this brand for pants!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKSaleAlert #LTKFindsUnder50
I feel a little ridiculous hanging garland on my headboard but… Sparks joy. Something that never really occurred to me until recently, but I think we millennials and influencers just keep coming up with more and more options! Holiday cheer everywhere! Would you try this?

#LTKSeasonal #LTKHoliday #LTKHome
Still just in love with our wrapping this year! I did one paper per kid, one for the grown-ups, one for my parents… Love these fun vintage/classic patterns from rifle! I love the Nutcracker theme! All 30% off right now!

#LTKHoliday #LTKmomlife #LTKSeasonal
Basically, constantly wearing one of these amazing sweaters. So many great colors!

Plus these high waisted barrel cords are so fun!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKFindsUnder50
Enjoying the warm glow of the tree so much it makes even the dark rainy days bearable. That’s kind of the idea of Christmas decor, isn’t it?! Just savoring these days. Not looking forward to taking it down in… a little over two weeks, wow!

Rifle paper co wrapping and ornaments are 30% off!

#LTKHome #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
Basically only interested in cozy sweaters at this point. This one is yak wool! So soft and warm, breathable, feels so nice! And love the price.
