1, 2, or 3? I loved the big dresser, but it didn’t reeeally fit and I was afraid it was denting the wall. The little antique dresser is more of a standard nightstand size, but now it feels so small! Do you think next to the bed or centered on the wall looks better?
Either way note that king size beds need more than a standard little nightstand!

Todays agenda: get a little work done, returns, lunch date with a friend, head to another friend’s house and help her pick out tile for several bathroom renos, probably have dinner on my couch finally finishing season 3 of Ted Lasso. You???
Been fantasizing about replacing this couch but the kids love it… Lucy said the other day it’s her “favite wed towts” (red couch). I think it’s here to stay anyway but I guess I’m stuck! So sweet but also inconvenient when the kids get attached to the experiments I bring in 🤪❤️

I’ve worked so much on my bedroom in the past few months but still wore old target t shirts to bed. Pretty room deserves pretty pajamas, right?? I love all of the prints from @printfresh and they come in short, long, robe, nightgown, and more! Possibly my favorite thing I’ve brought into my home recently: this woven jute rug from @rugsusa (collaboration with @laurenliess). I only use natural fiber rugs in my home these days and I love the classics, but I like things to have a little extra interest too. This one is perfect! It’s so soft under foot, too. Still planning some changes in this guest room/office but this rug will be perfect in the revamp too!! It’s also on sale right now!

Two things. 1, I haven’t shared this on the feed yet, my practical, kind of funky (British inspired?) insulation solution for this charming but single pane window space. These curtains are thermal blackout, and they do a ton to keep the cold out of the kitchen! It’s such a difference. Plus they are cute. Linked them in this post in the @shop.ltk app. 2, the other day I posted all of these rustic jugs/pottery on Facebook and sold them all. I’ve decided they are just not my style anymore and they are not serving me, so out! Making room for new things. It feels really good, recommend.
(Don’t mind the rods and rings on these windows with nothing on them… Café curtains are coming someday.)

Enjoy this guest room/office while you can, because I suddenly had the urge last night to completely redo it. I’m a very practical, methodical, thorough-thinking person, but I guess sometimes I snap and have whims! I’m thinking I need more playful colors, classic florals, and (gasp) less block print. (Is block print going to be dated soon??? Sacrilege, I know.)

How cute is this $60 Facebook cabinet?! I love it so much I want to find another similar one for the other side of the bed. But this drawer was so hard to use, and the wood inside caught on everything. Found these simple products that I will keep in my furniture restoring toolkit forever now. In fact this reminds me I need to use that low friction tape on Lucy’s dresser now. Game changer!

This bathroom deserves a shout out now that it’s basically done (for real this time). Now vs when we moved in in 2018. Blood, sweat, and tears (literally) went into the major reno in 2019 and then the wallpaper and painting the vanity were a piece of cake a couple months ago!! @sandbergwallpaper paper, linked everything else in I could in the app.

I asked the kids if they would mind if I took the Christmas decorations down tomorrow and they were surprisingly cool with it. I think I’ll do it before they change their minds. I almost never share this kitchen anymore, since I am pretty bored by at this point (2019 reno), but it looks a lot more interesting and cheerful with some red from the Christmas dishes. Making me happy today. The kids are with their dad and I’m having a quiet day at home which I’m trying to enjoy. I think I’m going to try watching some Hallmark Christmas movies now. Cannot handle the cuteness of these already very enthusiastic little kids around the holidays. 😍 3 and 5 are the perfect ages for Christmas magic. I absolutely love these sweet, classic pajamas we got this year! @petiteplume has so, so many cute festive patterns and colors, and I love how you can coordinate for different family members, or get all the same. It was hard to choose! (Also, Lucy took that photo of me with a tripod. Not bad for a 3-year-old!)

I have always been a fan of classic white bedding, but when all you have is a duvet cover and some sheets it is just boring. I’ve been slowly working on adding color and interest to this room, so I love the fun aqua and ruffles of this duvet cover set! Super affordable too. Linen is just the greatest for bedding. Almost all of you voted for the plums, and I was totally in that camp too until then one day… I dunno, I changed my mind!
I powered through wallpapering this bathroom yesterday morning and it is my best wallpaper job yet! It is so fun and exciting to walk into this room and see this beautiful pattern and color. This is the Alexandra wallpaper from Sandberg Wallpaper.
I put back a couple pieces of art but I’m not sure, what do you think, I loved all the art in here but now that I have this pattern, I’m not sure if I need it. Should I put more of those vintage frames back?? Being careful with how many holes I poke. (The mirror is not back yet and I’m not finished painting the vanity, and I have a few other changes planned too.)

Took down Halloween and letting the space be bare for a while before I put up Christmas. It’s nice to take a breath. It’s exhausting and overwhelming to see full on Christmas at every store all of a sudden. But I’m just letting it be background ideas and inspiration, nothing I need to implement until I’m ready. We don’t need the pressure!

This is the last room I designed (/installed/finished) and is more representative of my current style than a lot of the other rooms in my house like the kitchen and main bathroom of 2019, but it’s in the basement and when the TV show was filming they didn’t even consider filming down here because it’s not connected to the main part of the house so the flow wouldn’t work. ☹️ Well, here it is for you again.

My colorful, light-filled, quirky vintage-cute guest room/office is done and finishing a room kicks me in the pants enough to write a blog post so you can read all about it there. This room has had several uses in the past including our primary bedroom before Lucy was born so it’s nice to have it back, plus it’s so much nicer than my north-facing garage entrance office from before!

Shout out to @ciarakenaston for helping me order and frame the art prints, hang the sconces, and style the side tables! That was a fun Sunday!

I made the headboard and lumbar pillow from @calicocorners fabric last fall (headboard tutorial also on the blog) when I did the basement guest room… they look great here too! Other sources linked in @shop.ltk and in the blog post!
