What’s the most ridiculous thing someone has confidently said about you that wasn’t true? Comment RUMOR for what to do & say if someone has been spreading a false narrative about you. A woman I have never met commented on one of my last videos (the making friends & Majhong game night one) and said that my house and dress were AI. That’s entirely false. Frankly tho I’ll take the house part as a compliment (I’ve worked really hard on that landscaping). She didn’t just leave one comment. She replied to multiple other people’s comments repeating the same claim. Then someone else commented, “I love your dress and your house.” And almost immediately, another person jumped in saying, “It’s AI.” Not because they knew me or had ever been to my house (She was also a complete stranger) but Because someone else’s comment sounded confident enough that they accepted it as true. That’s exactly how rumors & false narratives spread. One person says something with enough certainty, and suddenly other people stop questioning it and start repeating it. So here’s your reminder: don’t confuse someone saying something confidently with credibility and being right. I’m a real girl (yes that was a pinocchio reference) and so is my house. Before you believe something about another person, ask yourself, “Do I actually know this to be true, or am I just repeating what someone else confidently said?” That’s how reputations get damaged, friendships fall apart, and misinformation spreads.
