Growing up we always had real trees and my ex husband always insisted on one. They have their pros but I was definitely frustrated with the pine needles everywhere, the constant watering, picking them out in the cold/rain, spending the money every year… but I felt guilty getting a fake one for the downsides they have, and the perception!! But 3 years ago was my first Christmas as a single mom, no husband to judge me or help me, and I went for it. And it was so much easier. Now I put my tree up in the beginning of November and enjoy the glow for almost 2 whole (dark, dreary) months! I love that it’s made the season longer and more joyful for me.
