Everyone’s favorite part of my classic Christmas decor tour reel was the plaid throws! I rounded up some good ones. The best are the washable wool but absent that, go for slightly thicker with a finer gauge if you can. Festive and cozy! And most are on sale this weekend!

Realized I’ve been going for a classic Christmas the past few years and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Red ribbon, wreaths, plaid, nutcrackers, gingerbread houses… I’ve loved them for years and they’re sticking around. This year I added a few vintage thrifted things like the mini village toy shop, went a little crazier than usual with the ribbon, and am still trying to figure out where to hang the advent calendar. Stumbled upon this COTTON sweater and I’m in love! On-trend dark brown, but it’s mostly cotton so it’s not too hot like the super fuzzy ones. It’s an oversized fit so you don’t need to size up. So affordable too!

Can’t believe the price on these sneaks for black Friday! Been loving these this fall as a fun way to be comfortable. I sized almost a full size down. So many great colors!

These stocking hangers are the safest option if you have kids and pets around! I’ve had black ones for years but I just replaced them with these gold ones for a more classic look. Plus, I’m so excited about our new needlepoint stockings, they are so affordable and also just classic!

I was sure there had to be some scientific reason, so I looked it up. It’s called “context-dependent memory” or cue-based positive recall; when you pull out the mugs each year or choose one instead of a regular mug, it pulls up cozy, joyful, connected moments which releases dopamine. It’s the same reason traditions like music make us feel calm and festive, but it’s cool when a physical element of my home can have that impact too. Another reason our homes matter!

I love this tip for increasing productivity and reducing stress! Especially around the holidays when you’re adding all this holiday stuff to you’re already full regular schedule. I use my calendar instead of a to do list for tasks that take more than a few minutes, so I don’t stress about them until it’s time to do them, and then I can get them done at a time that I thought through! Have you tried this?

I’ve been helping my friend update her kids’ bathroom and it’s done! Her style is light and fresh and a little playful, but it’s a traditional home. After debating and trying to find the absolute perfect fabric and length for a fringed skirt for this table, I finally decided to just get something that I knew would work! I have seriously agonized over my couch decisions multiple times this year. I really wanted to keep it more relaxed than two matching sofas, which sounds traditional and like it could be stuffy. Some stills of the living room. I debated so long about two blue velvet sofas vs. one and I’m so glad I went for two now. It doesn’t feel too stuffy or traditional like I thought it might. I love the classics, but a little updated, and with the occasional glitter marker set stored inside. This time of year, I love love love my outlet timers. I have a few lamps in my living room that turn on around 4 PM till bedtime, but also turn on at 6:30 AM right before I come downstairs. They welcome me to a cozy home rather than a dark one!

Well, now I’m feeling like a chump because I learned you can take oregano oil in pill form. Goes down 1000x easier! Plus it’s a much higher dose. Essential for cold season around here. Seriously it keeps me from picking up colds or keeps them for being bad at all. I take multiple times a day when I have a cold coming on! Evidence based too!
