HOME DECOR ON A BUDGET I’m a firm believer that you can make spaces look great within the bounds of your budget. I originally started this account to document our home renovation journey. This is the niños bathroom. Our goal was to make it slightly modern and colorful, and functional. This space was formerly a weird, long closet that was wood-paneled, and was original to the house as it was built in the 70’s. We already had one bathroom upstairs so we decided to create another one for our niños to share. Here are some tips to create your space on a budget: 1. Follow home decor inspiration accounts, and start browsing on Pinterest to get an idea of what you do and don’t like. 2. When you start searching for specific products, shop around! Compare prices! Download the Honey browser and app to see when your favorite things go on sale. 3. Be very specific when creating your budget for a space. For example, when looking at photos, write down everything you see: bathroom hardware, rug, shower curtain, sconces, etc, and budget for every single category that you want to include in your budget. This way there are no surprises. I would also include a subcategory called “unknown expenses” and put some money in there. This can help cover something that you might have forgotten, or an item that is slightly more expensive than anticipated. 4. Don’t settle and buy something just because it’s on sale.
