When decorating a space on a budget, I divide the budget into three categories: 1. Inexpensive decor, things I can go thrift or buy at a garage sale (or craigslist), and things we can make ourselves. 2. Middle of the road items. Reasonably priced decor that I can purchase without feeling like I’m spending a fortune, usually things from Target, Etsy, etc. 3. Statement items worth saving for that we can’t make ourselves, or feel that it’s worth it to outsource for time’s sake. This view is a combination of those things: 1. The frame on the left was a gift from my friend Sara that says “This Kitchen is for Dancing.” The frames on the far wall are from @michaels and I got the idea from @helmick_hacienda as they are minimal, beautiful and it cost me $40 total for 4 frames, and about $3 to have the photos printed. 2. That “salud” sign that I had been eyeing for MONTHS. The cabinet pulls are from @builddotcom and are fairly priced, Laura suggested them to me when searching for cabinet hardware. 3. THe stools! They were a big ticket item that we had been saving for all along! Easy to clean, and minimal! Being on a budget for our home renovation was incredibly helpful, had we not, it would have been easy to spend significantly more! For those of you that were asking how we paid off our debt: I wrote an article about it with practical tips that anyone can apply to become debt free!
