So much wisdom from a 2-foot Jedi Master. Amen Yoda! I interpret this to be a challenge of persistence. Once you have made the decision to become debt-free, will you persevere despite the challenges and sacrifices that WILL present themselves. Some of the challenges that came up during our debt-free journey: *A huge tax bill that prevented us from paying down our debt for a couple of months *Overcoming the initial few months of starting a budget. *Car accident: had to replace a car (we mostly used the money given to us from our car insurance, but we had to budget for a bit more to purchase our used car replacement). *Keeping a positive outlook while working 50-80+ hour work weeks *Saying no to ourselves for lots of purchases, and no to others for various outings/vacations. Don’t get me wrong, we still made time for each other, took some inexpensive vacations, and made sure that we had some monthly “fun” money. These were the things that kept us going when it seemed like our goal was insurmountable.
