Try this test to see if you might have DeQuervain’s. ✨Before we explain it, don’t forget to SAVE this for later/SHARE this with another/FOLLOW us for more tips and education on DeQuervain’s!✨ It’s called the Finkelstein test: -Place the thumb of the injured side into the palm (again of the injured side). -Wrap the other four fingers around the thumb (that is placed in the palm). -Then move the pinky side of your hand towards the pinky side of your wrist (by bending at the wrist). If you are experiencing more than discomfort (like a pain/sharp pain or a feeling like something might snap) where the thumb and wrist meet, then you could possibly have DeQuervain’s. What is DeQuervains?! DeQuervain’s is a condition where the tendons of your thumb are not gliding as smoothly as possible whenever you move your thumb or wrist. There are changes to the tendon sheath, which covers your tendons, and to the tendons themselves. It is often due to poor use of the hand and wrist. You’ll often feel a sharp pain with use of the hand, gripping, pinching and doing everyday activities. It might even feel like something is about to snap or tear! So do you think you have it?
